There are two concepts of decomposition: (1). UV light degradability, (2). Bio-degradability. EPOM elements connect with carbon and hydrogen to form a macromolecule structure. However disintegration is not the same as bio-degradability. Microorganisms help to bio-degrade by metabolize the plastic products. EPOM has many substances which attract microorganisms to eat. After EPOM products are discarded, lots of microorganisms digest and metabolize the EPOM products. Eventually EPOM products will be fully bio-degraded.
